Give Through a Retirement Plan or Life Insurance

Naming Elkhorn Slough Foundation as the beneficiary of your individual retirement account (IRA), 401(k), 403(b), donor advised fund (DAF), or life insurance policy is an easy way to give. Your plan administrator only requires that you complete a beneficiary designation form naming Elkhorn Slough Foundation as beneficiary of all or part of your retirement account or life insurance policy. If your retirement assets are tax-deferred, the remainder left to Elkhorn Slough Foundation will not be subject to tax.

Gifts of Real Estate

If you own property within the Elkhorn Slough watershed and are interested in protecting it in perpetuity, please email Kevin Contreras, Land Acquisitions and Conservation Easements Manager, or call (831) 728-5939.

If you are interested in donating your real estate to Elkhorn Slough Foundation so that we can sell the property to fund our work, you have several options. You may donate your land now, or you may leave your real estate to Elkhorn Slough Foundation in your will or trust. Additionally, you may also donate a remainder interest that enables you to continue using your property for the rest of your lifetime, or transfer your property to a charitable remainder trust that provides you with income for the rest of your life.
