2016 Volunteer Naturalist Training Class
Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve (ESNERR) invites you to participate in the 2016 Fall Volunteer Training Classes. Discover the wonders of Elkhorn Slough Reserve and learn how to share these wonders with others.
Naturalist training class topics include: ecology, biology, current and past research at the Reserve, ongoing Reserve projects, and cultural histories. Everyone is welcome.
The Introductory Orientation training classes will be held on Saturday, October 1, 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This basic class is for anyone interested in learning more about volunteering at the Reserve. Volunteers with our Research and Stewardship programs help as wildlife monitors, habitat restorers, maintenance assistants, administrative support and more. Education volunteers help with school/youth groups and the public supporting activities in the Visitor Center, on the trail, and in the microscope learning lab.
Volunteer Naturalist sessions are open to any potential ESNERR Volunteer but required for Education and Visitor Services volunteers. Naturalist Training classes will be 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct 8 and Oct 22, and 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Oct 29.
All classes will be held at the Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve, 1700 Elkhorn Road, Watsonville.
