Varyl joined California Department of Fish and Wildlife in May of 2009. She previously worked for California State Parks at various parks in Santa Cruz County. Some of her projects include: developing school programs, leading hikes, creating interpretive displays and coordinating special events. Varyl has also worked for the City of San Jose’s parks department giving talks in classrooms on watersheds. Her training includes: B.A. in Speech Pathology, A.A. in Park Management and a Certificate in Natural Resources Planning and Interpretation. Varyl enjoys hiking, sunsets and having coffee with friends.
