Charlie moved into a cabin overlooking Elkhorn Slough in 2004 and has remained in the area ever since. He has a background in geology and earned a Master’s degree with Moss Landing Marine Labs in 2009. His research involved the use of a terrestrial laser scanner (TLS) to identify and measure fine-scale changes in the geomorphology of tidal creek banks and mudflats in the Slough. Charlie started work with ESNERR and ESF in late 2012 as the GIS Specialist, while retaining a position with the Center for Habitat Studies in Moss Landing. He has many years of experience mapping both terrestrial and marine habitats. When not mapping in the Slough, he’ll likely be found poring over maps for the next ski trip or mushroom foray.
