6/14/2004:
A California Red-legged Frog (Rana
aurora draytonii) is looking particularly jaunty with
a cap of duckweed (Lemna
sp.), which is among the world's smallest flowering plants.
This frog was posing in the guzzler
just off the trail south of Cattail Swale. The Rookery Pond and
Cattail Swale are two of several places on the Reserve that are
managed to provide habitat for this threatened species.
