If you've noticed a sudden explosion of pinkish magenta along
the roadside, it might be the aptly named Farewell-to-spring
(Clarkia
rubicunda the genus name is after Captain William
Clark of the Lewis
and Clark expedition). A small patch of this Clarkia sprang
into blossom last week on the Reserve near the Education Lab.
