Stopping Erosion in its Tracks
3/1/08

Recently, Acquisition Specialist Kevin Contreras put out an urgent plea for volunteers to finish securing heavily disturbed soils on a nearby property. Someone had taken a motorized vehicle for a joy ride across this field and the results were catastrophic. Kevin’s call was quickly answered by several members of the administrative staff. Caryn Hodges, Emily Bacon, Gabi Estill and Michelle Gaither McClain left their desks behind to brave the cold wind and rain. The group made quick work spreading straw and seed across the remaining exposed soil.
