Elkhorn Slough Education Program

E
ducation and Training Programs at the Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve promote conservation and research on this unique wetland habitat.

Coastal Training Program
The National Estuarine Research Reserves around the country have established Coastal Training Programs to further the publics understanding of these precious coastal areas. The Coastal Training Program at Elkhorn Slough Reserve is making strides to further key decision makers' understanding of the importance of protecting the natural resources of Elkhorn Slough. Click here to learn more.

Teacher Training Program

This Teacher Training Program is designed to help teachers become proficient environmental educators so they may lead successful field trips on the Reserve. Because the teacher is responsible for the group's educational experience, he or she must complete a one and a half day workshop at the reserve to prepare for the trip. Find out about our teacher training workshops.

Environmental Education Resources Directory
We are part of a growing network of environmental education programs in the Monterey Bay Area that seek to support teachers in their efforts to give students the experiences and knowledge they need to become environmentally responsible citizens in our watersheds.
